Head Teacher’s Letter 3rd September 2013

Dear Parents
I would like to welcome all pupils, new and returning, to Hillview International Primary School for school year 2013/14. I would also like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the new Head Teacher. I am Neil Stewart and I have arrived in Malawi from Edinburgh, Scotland. I previously worked in St Andrew’s International High School as Deputy Head of Pastoral Care and have looked forward to returning to the ‘Warm Heart of Africa’.
We also have new members of staff joining the Hillview community with Miss Stephanie Tselingas Year 3, Mr Stephane Carnoy teaching French and Mr Ian Thomson teaching Music and we look forward to the skills and talents they bring to the school.
The term ahead looks like being a busy and varied one and I am excited by the many activities on offer to the pupils.
Some key dates in the next 2 weeks are:
Wednesday 4th September – Return Clubs and Squad form
Monday 9th September – Clubs and Squad start
Tuesday 10th September – Orientation Meetings:
- Key Stage 1 at 2.00 pm
- Head Teacher’s presentation at 2.45 pm
- Key Stage 2 at 3.15 pm
Wednesday 11th September – PTA AGM at 6.30pm
I would like to make the Head Teacher’s letters more Eco friendly in the future and will be looking at the development of email bulletins and news being made available via the school website with class and news blogs linked to the site.
I look forward to building our partnership over the next months and my office door is open should you wish to discuss your child’s education or any other matters.
